Application Procedures as of 22 June 2008

  • All Cadets will apply on a CAPF 31, Illinois Wing cadets will not have to attend review boards. Send the CAPF 31 to the encampment commanders home address http://jfe.ilwg.cap.gov/contact.htm
  • Please check the Other Special Activity or Encampment box at the bottom of the form and enter Johnson Flight Encampment. Indicate the adult t-shirt/shorts size at the bottom of the application
  • Indicate which section (power, basic glider, advanced glider, or balloon) you are applying
  • Out of Wing cadet candidates will require approval by their Wing Commander or Director of Cadet Programs
  • Attendance at a cadet encampment is not required but preference will be given to those who have attended in the selection process
  • Cost to attend is $675.00 for power/glider, $500 for balloon (2008 prices - subject to change for 2009)
  • The age requirement for all sections is age 14 or having completed the 8th grade
  • All cadets must be the grade of Cadet A1C at the time of application. This requirement can not be waived.
  • Applications will be handled on a first come-first serve basis
  • Applications may be sent directly to the commander no earlier than 1 October 2009
  • In order to guarantee a slot, you must send in a $100 non-refundable check payable to Johnson Flight Encampment
  • Cadets interested in power instruction need to pay special attention to the TSA proof of citizenship requirements
